image Für Visual Studio 2008 ist das neues Toolset Volta für das deklarative Tier-Splitting verfügbar. Deklaratives Tier-Splitting erlaubt die beliebige Verteilung von Code/Components zwischen Client und Server. Mit anderen Worten, man braucht sich zur Entwicklungszeit nicht den Kopf über die Verteilung der Komponenten zerbrechen. Stellt man zur Laufzeit fest, daß die Perforamnce der gewählten Verteilung nicht so optimal ist, kann man die Teile einfach vom Client auf den Server verschieben und umgekehrt.

Volta kann erst mit dem neuen Release von Visual Studio 2008 verwendet werden. Spannend ist die Kombination mit Silverlight, dann dadurch laufen die Applikationen sowohl am Internet Explorer wie auch Firefox gleich.
